Vestibular Assessment & Rehabilitation

Dizziness, imbalance, vertigo, headache or migraine are common and can be indicative of a vestibular, inner ear dysfunction or musculoskeletal problem. The good news is, if you suffer from any of these symptoms, they usually respond well to a vestibular physiotherapist’s assessment, treatment and rehabilitation.

Our vestibular physiotherapists offer comprehensive treatment for a wide range of vestibular conditions such as:

Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo or BPPV

Persistent, Postural, Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD)

Cervicogenic dizziness

Headaches & migraine

Impaired balance, lack of confidence with mobility and falls

Vestibular hypofunction including vestibular neuritis, labrynthitis, Meniere’s disease and acoustic neuroma

Central vestibular dysfunction resulting from concussion, brain injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis, diseases of the cerebellum

A doctor can refer you for an initial assessment with a vestibular physiotherapist if your symptoms are made worse by movement or changing position, or if you have problems with balance or unsteadiness when walking or with usual daily activity.

Why Vigor Physiotherapy

Our vestibular physiotherapist will diagnose and treat you with a tailored rehabilitation program to ensure your symptoms and function resolve, including minimising the chances of recurrence.

We also have a large gym for rehabilitation with balance classes within our extensive group class program. These classes can provide valuable balance rehabilitation for those individuals with more longstanding balance impairments.

We see many patients referred by Neurologists, ENT Specialists, GP’s and other allied health clinicians however, a referral is not required.
